Facebook launched a new security tool this past week, “Security Checkup,” to acquaint users with the social media site’s optional security controls.
Users will receive a reminder at the top of their News Feed about the tool, a Facebook staffer wrote in a blog post. The first step of the process involves logging out of devices that haven’t been used in a long time, and the next involves turning on “login alerts,” which sends a notification whenever someone logs into a user’s Facebook account from an unknown device or browser.
