Barclays Faces Employee Spying Probe

British banking giant Barclays is being probed by the country’s privacy watchdog over its use of employee-monitoring tools.

Barclays is the third largest bank in Britain, following HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group, which also includes Bank of Scotland and Halifax.

The Information Commissioners Office, which enforces privacy laws in Britain, including compliance with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, has confirmed the Barclays probe to Information Security Media Group.
