Ohio’s secretary of state will use the National Guard’s cybersecurity team to bolster its election systems, The Associated Press is reporting. Jon Husted, a Republican, will also take advantage of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and private security experts to shore up election cybersecurity, according to the news service. The DHS announced this week that 46 states are taking the agency up on its offer to help.
Both Democrats and Republicans have expressed concerns that the elections may be hacked. Democrats say they fear Russia, a country implicated in hacking a number of political entities already this election season.
