On September 10, 2015, the Director James B. Comey continued advocating ’s concerns that companies’ adoption of stronger without possessing a key to decode it creates an environment favoring criminals and impeding investigators.

The debate about whether law enforcement should possess the ability to access has risen to the surface with the fear of the alleged global prevalence of U.S. activities, and highly publicized breaches that have exposed millions of personal identifiable information. Right now there is considerable push back from the technology community on this issue.
