The FBI has published tips for companies to protect themselves from the onslaught of phishing attacks slamming companies nationwide.
Most of the bureau’s suggestions touch on the way employees respond to unsolicited emails coming into their inbox, whether it appears to be from someone they know or a total stranger.
For example, one suggestion advises users to hit “forward” and not “reply” when a questionable email arrives from what appears to be from a legitimate contact. This way, the user will know if the sender is already in their existing contact list to confirm they are legitimate.
