DevOps tooling such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible ushered in a whole new era of optimization. Doing more with less, doing it more efficiently and empowering faster innovation has become the mainstay within DevOps. The drum beats loudly, and the small agile DevOps team is expected to keep pace by pulling their oars to match the rhythm of the business. It’s generally smooth rowing – that is, until the security or auditing team show up.
When that happens, the challenging yet manageable pace is bogged down with additional (perceived unnecessary) impediments to getting their job done.
